Asset Inventory Tool Calculator: Weight the Criteria Yourself

Our seven criterion scores for each tool, re-ranked with the weights your team would use, next to the prices vendors publish.

Bottom line

Move a slider to say how much a criterion matters to your team, from 0 (ignore it) to 10. The table re-ranks the seven tools on our 0-100 criterion scores using your weights. With our published weights the order is Axonius (76), JupiterOne (73), runZero (72), Lansweeper (70), Armis (69), Oomnitza (62) and Device42 (57). No vendor here publishes a per-asset price, so cost appears only where a vendor publishes a figure: JupiterOne's annual tiers, runZero's starting price and the free tiers of runZero and Lansweeper.

Scores are ours; weights are yours. The default sliders reproduce the published ranking exactly, because only the ratio between weights matters. Set a criterion to 0 to leave it out. Prices are shown only as the vendor publishes them, on the date shown, and nothing is estimated.

Your score = (coverage x w1 + correlation x w2 + freshness x w3 + query x w4 + remediation x w5 + deployment x w6 + price x w7) / (w1 + w2 + w3 + w4 + w5 + w6 + w7). With our weights (22, 18, 12, 12, 14, 12, 10) this equals the published total. Value = your score divided by the published annual price in units of $10,000.

Scores are editorial assessments from public vendor material, not measurements. Prices are as published on each vendor's pricing page on the date we reviewed it (September 2026) and may have changed. The calculator uses the same scores as every other page.

How should you use the calculator?

Start from our weights, then move the one or two criteria your team cares about most. A security team that already runs many tools usually raises correlation and query. An IT team that wants a first inventory this month raises deployment effort and price transparency. Watch the Move column: a tool that climbs several places under your weights is worth a closer look on its review page.

Calculator questions

How is the re-weighted score calculated?

Each criterion score is multiplied by your weight, the products are added, and the sum is divided by the total of your weights. With our default weights the result equals the published score for every tool.

Why is there no price per asset?

None of the seven vendors publishes a per-asset or per-seat price on the pages we reviewed. The calculator shows only what is published: JupiterOne's annual tiers, runZero's starting price, and the free tiers of runZero and Lansweeper up to 100 assets.

What does the Value column mean?

Your re-weighted score divided by the published annual price in units of $10,000. It appears only where a vendor publishes a fixed annual figure for the option you selected, which on the pages we reviewed is JupiterOne.

Can I share my weights?

Yes. The weights, asset count and JupiterOne tier are stored in the page address, so copying the URL shares the same setup.
