Privacy Policy

This policy explains what personal data Asset Inventory Ranked receives, why, who else sees it and what you can ask us to do with it. The short version: the site collects very little, and nothing at all unless you write to us.

Who is responsible for your data

Asset Inventory Ranked (assetinventoryranked.com) is published by Alegria Media and Consulting Ltd. ("we"). We decide how the limited personal data described here is used. You can reach us through the contact form.

What we collect

The site has no user accounts, no payments and no comments. You can read every page and use the calculator and comparison tools without giving us any personal data. We receive personal data in three ways only:

  • Contact form. If you write to us through /contact, we receive the name, email address, topic and message you enter. For a copyright notice we also receive the details that notice requires, including your electronic signature.
  • Hosting logs. Our hosting provider automatically records technical data for each request, such as IP address, browser and device type, the page requested and the time. These logs are used to run and secure the site.
  • Google Fonts. Pages load their typefaces from Google Fonts (fonts.googleapis.com and fonts.gstatic.com). When the fonts load, Google receives your IP address and browser details, as with any web request.

The calculator and comparison tools keep your choices in the page address (for example the tools you picked or the weights you set), not in cookies or browser storage. The site does not use localStorage or sessionStorage, sets no cookies of its own and loads no analytics, advertising or social media scripts. See the Cookie Policy.

Why we use it and our legal basis

Under the EU General Data Protection Regulation and the UK GDPR we rely on our legitimate interests to operate and secure the site, to answer messages and to handle corrections, privacy requests and copyright notices. Where the law requires consent for a particular use, we will ask for it first, and you can withdraw it at any time.

Who we share it with

  • Hosting and infrastructure providers that run the site for us.
  • The provider that delivers contact form messages to us, once the form is connected.
  • Authorities, courts or advisers where the law requires it or to protect our legal rights.

We do not sell personal information and we do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising.

International transfers

Our providers may process data outside the country where you live. Where that happens we rely on appropriate safeguards, such as adequacy decisions or standard contractual clauses. We are based in Israel, which has an adequacy decision from the European Commission.

How long we keep it

We keep contact messages for as long as we need to handle them, including any follow-up on a correction or notice, and then delete them. Hosting logs are kept for a limited period set by the hosting provider.

Your rights

If you are in the EU or UK, you can ask for access to your data, correction, deletion, restriction of use or a copy in a portable format; you can object to processing based on legitimate interests and withdraw consent; and you can complain to your data protection supervisory authority.

If you are a California resident, the CCPA as amended by the CPRA gives you the right to know what personal information we hold, to delete it, to correct it and to opt out of its sale or sharing. We do not sell or share personal information. We will not treat you differently for using these rights.

Under the Israeli Privacy Protection Law you can ask to review the information we hold about you and ask us to correct or delete it.

To make a request, use the contact form and choose the topic "Privacy request". We may ask for details to confirm the request comes from you.

Children

The site is written for security and IT professionals and is not directed to children under 16. We do not knowingly collect their data.

Changes to this policy

If what the site collects changes, we will update this page and the date at the top.
