Lansweeper Review 2026: Fast, Priced IT Asset Discovery

Best for IT teams that want a fast, priced start

Bottom line

Lansweeper scores 70 out of 100 and is the quickest priced start in this ranking. It discovers network, OT, laptop and cloud assets itself, runs passive detection by default and publishes its plans. It correlates fewer third-party sources than aggregation platforms and leaves remediation to the ITSM tool it feeds.

How does Lansweeper score?

Rank 4 of 7

Source coverage

Weight 22%
70 / 100

Separate discovery for the network including OT, off-network laptops and cloud; SaaS coverage is limited to AI usage tracking on the pages we reviewed.

Correlation and deduplication

Weight 18%
66 / 100

Merges duplicate records on MAC address, serial number and hostname rather than IP address.

Data freshness

Weight 12%
76 / 100

Passive detection runs by default alongside scheduled scans.

Query and reporting

Weight 12%
64 / 100

Inventory reports and dashboards; less cross-source query depth than graph or aggregation platforms.

Remediation and write-back

Weight 14%
50 / 100

Sends inventory into ServiceNow, Jira Service Management, Freshservice and other ITSM tools; no enforcement actions of its own are documented.

Deployment effort

Weight 12%
86 / 100

Agentless scanning, an optional agent for remote laptops, and a 14-day trial with no credit card.

Price transparency

Weight 10%
90 / 100

Starter and Pro list prices published, billed annually; free up to 100 assets; Enterprise quoted from 10,000 assets.

Coverage and trust score (editorial assessment, 0-100). It measures how completely and reliably a tool can tell a security or IT team what assets exist, who owns them and what state they are in. It is not a measure of overall product quality: service management platforms and lifecycle tools score lower here because inventory accuracy is one part of what they do.

What is Lansweeper?

Lansweeper is an IT asset discovery and inventory platform. It describes three discovery systems for the three places assets live: the network including OT, off-network laptops, and cloud. Scanning is agentless, with an optional IT agent for remote devices, and a traffic sensor detects devices passively. Machine learning fingerprinting against a library of more than 175 million devices identifies manufacturer, model and operating system. Lansweeper says it is trusted by more than 30,000 environments.

Where does Lansweeper lead?

  • Price transparency (90). Starter and Pro list prices are published, billed annually. The free tier continues up to 100 assets after the 14-day trial.
  • Deployment effort (86). Agentless scanning, passive detection on by default, and a trial with no credit card.
  • Duplicate handling. Records are merged on MAC address, serial number and hostname rather than IP address, which avoids a common source of duplicates.

Where does Lansweeper fall short?

  • Remediation (50). Lansweeper sends inventory to ServiceNow, Jira Service Management, Freshservice, HaloITSM and TOPdesk, but does not document enforcement actions of its own.
  • Correlation (66). It reconciles its own discovery well, with fewer third-party sources than Axonius or JupiterOne.
  • SaaS and identities are partial in our grid: SaaS coverage on the pages we reviewed is AI usage tracking, and user data is merged into asset records rather than inventoried as identities.

What does Lansweeper cost?

Published plans: a free tier up to 100 assets; Starter, which includes 2,000 assets, billed annually; Pro, which scales to 9,000 assets in bands of 1,000 and adds all integrations and vulnerability and lifecycle insights; Enterprise, quoted from 10,000 assets, with full API access. Is Lansweeper the right pick?

Pick it if

  • An IT team needs a complete network inventory quickly on a known budget.
  • OT devices are on the same network and need to be found.
  • Inventory should flow into an existing service desk.

Look elsewhere if

  • You need many security tools correlated into one record (Axonius).
  • You need SaaS apps and identities inventoried (Axonius, JupiterOne).
